What is Biofeedback?
In Biofeedback , we use instruments, mostly computers, to painlessly measure and feedback changes to you.
We help you to manage ongoing issues like stress, anxiety, cardiac issues, chronic pain, sleep, migraine, headache, depression etc. We also help people get the best from themselves so they perform better at work, sport and life in general.
If you have ever used a thermometer to read your temperature and then done something like taken paracetamol or applied a cold/damp facecloth... you have done biofeedback. (You measured something and then changed it)
We do exactly the same. We help you measure things like your Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Muscle Tension, Breathing Patterns etc. You see them and then change them. You do this by seeing what you are doing and altering the way you think, feel, sit, stand or breathe.
An small example of a typical conversation:
Therapist: Now try to relax your shoulders
You: They are relaxed, At least they feel relaxed.
Therapist: They may feel relaxed but look at the screen, you haven't relaxed them, you just think you have. Now relax them while you are looking at the screen so you can tell.
